League action returns this weekend and we welcome Chirk AAA to Clywedog Park for the first game in 2019.
In what looks like the most open season for a long time, Brickfield will be looking to capitalise on the good pre Christmas form and look towards gaining another valuable 3 points as they quest to keep the pressure on the teams currently above them.
Chirk AAA currently lie mid table but with games in hand they will also be looking to catch the leaders and mount there own challenge in what should be a closely run second half of the season.
Nick Ward has already been busy in the transfer market securing long term goalkeeping target Tom Belton from Lex XI and Tom will be looking to make his debut this weekend.
And, he has identified other targets that he hopes will bolster our title push this season.
Alan Bull though has left the club and we thank him for his contribution to the season and wish him all the best in the future.
Saturday though, will be another great opportunity for some of the younger players with Scott Swords and Jamie Samuels impressing in the Llay win and Harley Steel and Andrew Vale pushing for starts.
Chirk will be a stern test though and Wardy is under no illusions of what lies ahead on Saturday "Chirk will come here, confident and resilient and they will tough to break down, They've only conceded 16 goals this season and they are a threat up top with both Louis Middleshurst and young Niall Freeman leading the line, but we know what our strengths are and we caught a glimpse of that in the last two games, so now we must kick on".
Saturdays game kicks off at 2pm, please come along and show your support to Nick and the lads.
